Casino game - Craps
IntroductionCraps is a dice game where the player (shooter) plays with two dice against the other players and the bank.
Purpose
The purpose of the game is to throw a 7 or 11 (also called naturals) as quickly as possible. The player will then win and the round will simply be over. If the player threw craps (2, 3 or 12) he loses and the round will be over. If the player throws different numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), he gets another try. If the player throws the same number before he can throw a 7, he wins. The purpose depends on the player: the other players have to bet. If another player bets on the player that throws the dice and wins, he also wins.
The rules
In this game everything is about what the ‘shooter’ or thrower does. He decides which number will be thrown and thats when other players have to choose there bets. With craps there is a huge list of complex possibilities to place bets. The players have A choice between different places on the table. After all bets are placed, the player throws for the first time (Come Out). With a 7 or 11 he wins - |
There is also the ‘Field’-bet. This is a bet that only counts on the next throw. Players can bet on 2,3,4,9,10,11 or 12. There are also the ‘Big 6 and Big 8’-bets. These bets can be changed, moved or removed after each round during the game. Players will bet that a 6 or 8 will be thrown before a 7. And last there is the ‘Hardways’-area. Players that think the shooter will throw the same number twice will place there bets there. These bets can also be changed during the game. In the same area there is also the so-called ‘Any Craps’ and ‘Any Seven’-area. The player who bets here thinks the next shoot is a 7 (‘craps’). However, these are only the basics of Craps, there are dozens of other possibilities for placing bets, possibly only for the experts. |
Payout
For most of the ‘easy’ bets – Pass Line, Don’t Pass Bar, Come and Don’t Come Bar – the payout is 1 to 1. With the ‘Field’-area players get paid out 1 to 1 when betting on 3,4,9,10 and 11, while with 2 and 12 it's doubled. That last part is also shown on the table marked as ‘Pays Double’. With the ‘Hardways’-area it's shown how much the bank will pay when you win. The payout rises as the number gets more complicated (double 6 or double 1 will be paid out the most).
